Bharat Padhe Online' | MHRD seeks ideas to improve e-learning in India IASZAHID

The Ministry Human Resource Development (MHRD) has asked the students, teachers and educationists across the country to participate in an online campaign aimed at boosting e-learning and online education in India.

For this, the HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has initiated a campaign titled “Bharat Padhe Online” and has invited suggestions and ideas from the academic fraternity including students and teachers to boost e-learning and intensify online education in India.

Following this, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), here has urged the students, teachers and educationists to participate in the said campaign through twitter using #BharatPadheonline

Amid prevailing lockdown MHRD has run a campaign for crowdsourcing idea on upgrading online education ecosystem of India. The campaign is aimed at inviting al the best brains in India to share suggestions solutions directly with the MHRD minister to overcome constraints of online education,” reads a notification uploaded on DSEK website.

Also, the Chairman University Grants Commission (UGC) has written to all the Vice-Chancellors (VCs) of the Universities and degree colleges to ensure participation in sharing their ideas about boosting and improving online education.
All universities and colleges are requested to share details of the Bharat Padhe Online campaign with teachers, students, researchers and experts requesting them to provide their valuable inputs on twitter or via e-mail,” the letter reads.

However the move faced criticism from the netizens of J&K saying that such initiatives were “useless” for J&K unless high speed internet is restored in Jammu and Kashmir.

Several teachers and students reacted to HRD Minister’s tweet. “How even #BharatPadheOnline can be done when whole of J&K can’t even have basic 4G internet and no one like @reliancejio, @Airtel_Presence and @netplusofficial providing broadband service at suburbs,” a netizen replied to HRD minister’s tweet.

Another netizen replied, “Good evening sir, teachers are contributing very well in home classes, but due to 2G internet, the speed is very low, it is facing some problems, we request that 4G services be started,” @AsmileChoudhary tweeted

Another netizen also criticized the move saying that such initiatives need high speed internet. “Am sorry but its out of scope for #UTJK! #BharatPadheOnline needs first basic is good speed internet,” tweeted Sahil Verma
