attainments ofindividuals and their well-being have conventionally being captured through indicators likeper-capita or per-capita GDP of an economy.Per-capita income is the average Net StateDomestic Product (NSDP). It is considered an important means by which individuals canimprove their economic attainments and wellbeing. Per-capita consumption expenditure isconsidered a more preferable indicator ofindividual's command over resources and as adirect and better measure of economic wellbeing. This helps in calculating the gap betweenrural and urban consumption expenditure andthus measure the extent of inequality. Economic growth is an importantfactor in reducing poverty and generating the resources necessary for human developmentand environmental protection. There is a strongcorrelation between Gross Domestic Product(GDP) per–capita and indicators of development such as life expectancy, infant mortality, adult literacy, political and civil rights, and some indicators of environmental quality
