The college students have accused the Kashmir University (KU) administration for its delay in rectifying the evaluation of answer papers of 5th semester results.
They said inordinate delay by KU has put the students in a state of despair as the varsity has started the admission process for admission in Post-Graduation (PG) courses.

Recently, the KU authorities issued a notification regarding commencement of entrance test of students for their admission in PG courses offered by the University.
“But majority of the students from the outgoing batch are ineligible to appear in the entrance as the KU has shown us reappear in our 5th semester result,” said Saquib, a college student from south Kashmir.
He said the University administration had assured that the errors in the 5th semester results of 2016 batch of students will be rectified within a week but nothing was done in this regard despite the passage of 10 days

The examination department of KU is playing with career of students. They force us to hit streets to get our genuine demands addressed,” he said.
On March 2, KU faced valley-wide student protests against the examination department of for declaring ‘flawed’ provisional result of 5th semester examination.
The examination department had uploaded the provisional result of the 5th semester 2016 batch of students in which most of the students were shown as failed or reappear while as some students were awarded less marks.
“Students who have obtained more than 80 percent marks in last four semesters of undergraduate course have been shown as failed or reappear,” another student said.
In wake of the student protest, the Vice Chancellor KU had asked the varsity officials to examine the student demands and get the papers reevaluated within a week’s time. However, no changes have been made in the evaluation status of the result which was earlier uploaded on university website.
“The degree has already consumed our four years and now the KU administration is further delaying the completion of our degree by uploading flawed results on website. Our results should get rectified or we will stage massive protest in University campus,” the student said.
Registrar Kashmir University (KU) Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir said the issue will be resolved by coming week as per the genuineness of the cases.
“Students will be informed next week whether they have actually qualified the 5th semester exam or not. The decision will be taken on basis of the genuineness of the cases. The examination department has already framed a headway in it,” Registrar said.
